Description

Principle of the Assay: The Human DCR3 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human DCR3 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human DCR3 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and DCR3 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human DCR3 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DCR3 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Background: Decoy receptor 3 (Dcr3), also known as tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 6B (TNFRSF6B), TR6 and M68, is a soluble protein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily which inhibits Fas ligand-inducedapoptosis. This gene belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It acts as a decoy receptor that competes with death receptors for ligand binding. The encoded protein is postulated to play a regulatory role in suppressing FasL- and LIGHT-mediated cell death and T cell activation as well as to induce angiogenesis via neutralization of TL1A. Overexpression of this gene has been noted in various tumors e.g. gastrointestinal tract tumors, and it is located in a gene-rich cluster on chromosome 20, with other potentially tumor-related genes
